How it works — in 3 steps.

1

Upload the MP4 file directly: no need to extract the audio or convert the video, Verlio separates the audio track automatically. Long files work too, over 6 hours.

2

Choose your output: a text document (with AI cleanup, speakers identified and the Structured Document) or synchronized subtitles. You can even choose a different language from the video's.

3

Download Word or PDF for archiving and sharing, SRT or VTT to upload subtitles to YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn or your video editor.

Why transcribe an MP4 video?

MP4 is the universal video format: Zoom and Meet recordings, screen recordings, video courses, social content, webinar replays. Everything said in those videos is trapped information: it can't be searched, quoted or indexed. Transcription sets it free — to write up the minutes of a call, turn a video course into an article, or make content accessible.

Then there's the subtitles chapter: a large share of social media video is watched with the sound off, and subtitles measurably increase views and watch time. With the SRT/VTT export you get them already synchronized, ready to upload to the platform or import into your editor.

How it works with video files.

There's nothing technical to do: upload the MP4 (or MOV, MKV and the other common video formats) and Verlio extracts the audio track on its own. Speaker recognition tells the voices apart — crucial for recorded calls and video interviews — and AI cleanup strips filler words and false starts from the text.

If the video is in Spanish, German, French or another of the 35+ supported languages, you can have the document delivered directly in English, or the other way round: transcription and translation happen in a single pass. For technical videos, the context document ensures product names and specialist terms are spelled correctly.

How much does it cost to transcribe an MP4?

Only the duration counts, not the resolution or file size: 1 credit per 30 minutes, credits from €5, no subscription. A 20-minute video costs 1 credit; under 10 minutes — the classic social media video — it's always free. At signup you get 1 hour of free trial with no card. Processing happens on servers in the European Union, in compliance with the GDPR.

Frequently asked questions.

Do I have to extract the audio from the video before uploading?

No: upload the full MP4 and Verlio extracts the audio track automatically. It also works with MOV, MKV and the other common video formats.

Can I get subtitles ready for YouTube?

Yes: export to SRT or VTT with timestamps already synchronized and upload them to YouTube, Vimeo or LinkedIn without changes.

The video is in another language: can I get subtitles or a document in English?
